At the end of September, sales in supermarkets increased by +2.2%. Hypermarkets sales decreased by -0.6%, in a context of refocusing purchases on basic necessities and a savings reflex of consumers.

Three main activities with unequal weight

There is the non-food distribution, which represents 83% of the companies for 27.6% of the employees and 27% of the cumulated turnover of the sector. Mass retailing, which accounts for 2.2% of companies, 59.5% of employees and 48% of sales.
