American pressure, RGPD and approval by the Czech Republic

While the U.S. has recently lobbied European leaders for a narrower definition of AI and exemptions for general purpose AI, the Czech Presidency of the EU Council has presented the final version of the EU Artificial Intelligence Regulation for approval.

At the same time, and despite the possibility of very high penalties, some companies specialized in AI violate the RGPD, sometimes disregarding the penalties imposed, suggesting global commercial or even geopolitical issues that a European regulation will certainly only be able to partially regulate.

What is AI and what are its current trends?
